Editorial Board

Sachie, associate editor
Sachie is a graduate of UC Santa Cruz and has been living in San Francisco for the past ten years. A survivor of the dot-com party and crash, she has worked in the high-tech and book publishing industries, and currently works in education. She enjoys spending time with her mad-scientist husband and two adorable kitties, socializing with friends, reading the latest New Yorker on weekend mornings and anything shopping-related. In addition, her food obsession has reached new heights since her husband stopped cooking and welcomed her into the kitchen. Sachie writes about food and style (‘Friday Food’) for Iyow and keeps an ear to the ground for phat beats and new literary voices. She also posts on Chowhound as citygrrl.

Jen W, associate editor
A fellow UC Santa Cruz grad, Jen W is a literature/pop culture/sci-fi aficionado with a really smart mouth. She’s worked in a wide range of industries in the grand tradition of liberal arts grads everywhere, including political non-profits, publishing, teaching, and hi-tech startups where she has become a sought-after software spec writer and business analyst. She can also make pretty shiny things with her bare hands. Jen W is also a fiction writer and memoirist. Her subjects for Iyow include ‘Whose Bodies Whose Selves?’ and ‘Friday Food’. In her spare time, she can be caught outside doing triathlons or enjoying/suffering through SF’s many cultural offerings.

julie T, editor
julie T came to the SF Bay Area for college to study political science and humanities in college in 1992. She has a long-standing interest in mass communications — both in the development of the technology and its evolution as a social medium — and has worked in various capacities for The Chicago Tribune, PBS/WTTW Chicago, The Stanford Daily, and CNN Beijing, as well as online zines like SomaLit, MaxiMag, NYCBigCityLit.com and Big Toe Press. She began publishing Iyow to propagate first-person stories and relevant dialogue.

Iyow was first published in 2005. Contact information here.
